5 Top Tips To Diet Success!
(Without giving up Gin & Cake)
Kim Barker - My 5:2 Club Story
1) It’s Got to be Realistic
If it calls for you to deny your favourite foods - you are not going to be able to stick with it long term.
2) It’s Got to be Flexible
We all have special events that crop up from time to time, if your diet doesn’t have the flexibility to fit around those - it’s doomed to failure - life is too short!
3) It’s Got to be Easy
If you have to cook separate meals from the rest of the family, weigh or measure portions or think about everything you eat - you’ll be constantly obsessing over food. FAIL!
4) It’s Got to Be Tasty
You really don’t want to have to live your life on a diet of bland, tasteless, unappealing food - if you’re not enjoying it, will you honestly be able to live with it?
5) It’s Got to Work
Let’s face it, you’ve got to be seeing the pay off in terms of weight and inch loss, otherwise, what is the point of it all?
Hey, I’m Kim, a busy wife and Mum to a lively lego-loving lad and I run my own business from home, having shelved my career to spend more time with my family.
I love food! I love to bake (I L❤️VE CAKE!), I love to cook, I love to eat and I love spending time with friends and enjoying the odd gin, cocktail or glass of fizz.
What I DON’T love is dieting 😩 - the very word ‘diet’ is enough to send me off obsessing about all the things I enjoy and have to give up! Once I hit 30 and became a Mum, my weight slowly started to creep up.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been excessively overweight, but I have had to battle the odd surplus stone or two - and quite frankly - it’s BORING!
Now, however, I have found a way to (literally)
have my “cake and eat it”!
Here’s why I’m NEVER going to “diet” again!
The Nutriseed 5:2 Club takes Intermittent Fasting to a whole new level.
Two days a week, I have 5 delicious blends of cold pressed fruit and vegetable goodness - spaced throughout the day and I top up with fruit and herbal teas, miso soup, plenty of water and even the odd cup of tea.
It came as a huge (and pleasant) surprise to me that my fear of feeling constantly hungry was unrealised, the nutrients in the juices cut my cravings and keep me going - without hunger pangs - till bed-time.
The other five days, I get on with living my normal life - cosy dinners and date nights with my hubbie Andy, family pizza nights, visits to the Ice-Cream Farm with my son Flynn and his friends, drinks and nibbles with the girls - all form part of my weekly routine and I love it.
Sometimes I’ll have a smoothie instead of lunch, but sometimes it’s a cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel - the point is, I don’t have to think about it, plan around a restrictive menu or cancel plans because I’m on a “diet”!
I’m living my life as I want to - without limits - but week by week, I’m seeing results and they are incredible. 14cm off my waist so far in just over three months.
Having tried, amongst others, a 5:2 diet in the past and feeling miserable with hunger, this plan has been a total game-changer for me.
There’s no weighing or measuring foods, no counting calories, fats or carbs, no guilt and absolutely ZERO feelings of deprivation.
My Nutriseed lifestyle means if I want cake, (or gin or ice-cream) I have it. I’m a grown up - I don’t want to put my life “on-hold” until I get to where I want to be - I want to enjoy the ride and this gives me the freedom to do just that!
