1. You’re eating too many calories

Understandable, yes, but awareness goes a long way.
2. You're not eating the right foods.
Even if you're eating enough calories, you might not lose weight if you're not eating the right foods. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of lean protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates is essential. Avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and high-fat snacks. Instead, focus on eating whole foods that will give your body the necessary nutrients to function correctly.
3. You're not drinking enough water
Skimping on drinking water can cause water retention or edema in your body, which may lead to temporary weight gain. One universal beauty secret? Drink water. Lots of it. Studies show that drinking 2 to 4 litres of water daily contributes to healthier skin (who doesn’t want that?), improved digestion, improved fat metabolism, and reduction in fatigue. Water still rules.
4. You're stressed
Stress can have a significant impact on your weight loss efforts. When you're stressed, your body produces a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol is the "stress hormone" because it's released when you're under stress. Cortisol can lead to increased appetite and cravings for unhealthy foods. It can also make it harder for your body to burn fat. If you're stressed, try relaxation techniques like yoga or meditation.
5. You’re not getting enough sleep.
Just as when you’re stressed, the lack of sleep causes your body to produce cortisol to regulate stress. You tend to stock up on caffeine, sugar, and larger portions of food to keep you awake and alert during the day. This can lead to weight gain and an increase in your body mass index (BMI)
