Weight Loss

Over the course of a 3 or 5-day juice cleanse, there is potential to lose up to 6lb (approx. 2.5kg) in weight. Some of this will be water bloat, but some will also be fat. This is because a juice cleanse is not only naturally low in calories, it can help to control appetite and cravings, whilst supplying the body with possibly more concentrated beneficial healing nutrients it has experienced before.  


Reduce your Appetite

Going on a cold-pressed juice diet eliminates the habit of comfort eating, and helps you to be satisfied with less food than usual. It doesn’t shrink the stomach, although it can feel like it does. This can provide you with a great psychological boost in changing habits for the better.

A cold-pressed juice cleanse is a vegan, plant-based diet. This means that it eliminates wheat, gluten, dairy and fermented foods along with any caffeine or alcohol, from your diet for a period of time. Cold pressed juices are by nature raw foods, therefore retaining nutrients that would be destroyed by a conventional juicer or cooking, especially including some B Vitamins, and digestive and anti-inflammatory enzymes.

A broad range of plant-based nutrients like antioxidants and anti-inflammatories are required to optimally support all of the phases of the body’s natural detox process. Because a juice diet provides the body with super-nutrient dense foods, it allows the body access to more of the resources it needs for detoxification, and to begin to remove the cumulative toxins stored in the body.

The first day of a juice diet is always the most challenging to adjust to, with most people missing chewing foods, along with caffeine or even alcohol cessation symptoms. However, after the first hurdle, most people begin to feel a rush of energy and clarity of thought, not experienced before on a regular gluten, dairy and meat-based diets.


Rest The Liver

Lots of people are not aware of this but the liver is our main detoxifying organ. Every molecule of food absorbed through the intestinal wall (except fibre) moves into the liver. It is here that detoxification takes place, and preparation before being allowed to enter the rest of the body. The thing is, there are usually far too many toxins for the liver to handle, many passing unchecked into the general circulation to wreak havoc in distant cells. A cold pressed juice diet rests the liver’s overload.

The Truth About Sugar

Won’t drinking juice cause my blood sugars to spike?



The short answer is NO!  The first thing to stress is that not all sugars are created equal.

There are so many fantastic benefits associated with juicing it would be a shame to let a misconception cloud the picture.

The white, refined, nutrient-stripped sugar found in a doughnut or a fizzy drink is clearly not the same as the unrefined, vitamin, mineral and soluble fibre-rich ‘sugar’ found in an apple or the fresh juice extracted from it.

It is refined sugar which, rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream,  is the guilty culprit in contributing to obesity and preventable lifestyle diseases. Highly addictive (just like nicotine, alcohol or other ‘drugs’)  it is found in everything from bread, chips, crisps, chocolate bars, fizzy drinks, muffins, waffles, biscuits – the list is endless.

However, you will NOT find it in broccoli, kale, carrots, apples, spinach, celery, pears, cucumber or any other natural product that goes into our freshly cold pressed juices and

soups.

When people claim, ‘All sugars are the same,’ they completely miss the point that the unrefined sugars found in fruit and vegetables are balanced by the micronutrients and soluble fibre.  It is this fibre which helps to slow down the absorption of sugars in the bloodstream.

When new to juicing, some customers will opt for a shorter 3 Day option to ‘test the waters’, however, there is a lot to be said for investing in the 7 or even 10 Day Juice Cleanse.  It can be a more cost effective option - and the worst that can happen is you feel it’s too long in your particular case and you end up splitting it into two of a shorter duration - SIMPLE!
