These tasty toffee apples will leave fireworks in your mouth…
With bonfire night fast approaching, there will be parties, fireworks and delicious food around the bonfires of course! And by delicious food… we mean toffee apples! We’ve put a spin on the original recipe with these crunchy treats by making them full of all-natural, healthy vegan ingredients! Bursting with flavour, these apples really will ignite sparks in your mouth!
Here are the ingredients that you are going to need…
-2 tbsp. Chia Seeds
-2 tbsp. Cocoa Powder
-1/2 cup medjool dates
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-3 tbsp. peanut butter
-6 tbsp. coconut oil
-1 tbsp. maple syrup
-2 tbsp. water
-2 tbsp. almond milk
-4 tbsp. crushed peanuts
-Pinch of salt
You ready? Here it goes…
-Push a stick/skewer into the apples and placed on a lined tray.
-In a food processor blend the dates, vanilla extract, peanut butter, 2 tbsp. of the coconut oil, water and salt until smooth, and then pour into a bowl.
-Then mix the rest of the coconut oil, the cocoa powder, maple syrup and the almond milk in a separate bowl.
-Combine the crushed peanuts and chia seeds, then pour them onto a plate.
-Dip the apples into the date mixture and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-Once the 30 minutes is up, dip the apples into the chocolate mixture, then roll in the peanuts and chia seeds.
-Refrigerate for 1 hour and then tuck in!
