High Fat Low Carb Pancakes
Being on a high fat, low carb diet doesn’t mean you should give up one of the world’s best loved breakfast foods: pancakes. So at Nutriseed we have crafted a recipe for you that is high in good fats, whilst being low in carbohydrates to allow you to indulge without ruining your diet.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- ½ cup and 1 tablespoon Nutriseed Ground Almond Meal
- ½ teaspoon Nutriseed Ground Cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Nutriseed Almond Butter
- ½ cup cream cheese
- 4 eggs
Directions:
- Put all the ingredients in a blender
- Over medium heat in a frying pan, add the Nutriseed Almond Butter
- Add in 2–3 tablespoons of the batter per pancake
- Turn the pancake over once the centre begins to bubble which usually takes about 3–4 minutes
- Top with more Nutriseed Almond Butter and Nutriseed Ground Cinnamon
Notes:
- Use ½ cup of plain yogurt or pureed cottage cheese, strained overnight using a cheesecloth or 2 layers of paper towels
- If you do not wish to use eggs, mix 1 tablespoon of Nutriseed Ground Golden Flaxseed in 3 tablespoons of water until the consistency is gooey. This is good as a substitute for one egg so double the measurements in place of two eggs
